Cherokee Chapter – Sons of the American Revolution

Who We Are

The Sons of the American Revolution is the largest male lineage association in the U.S. dedicated to preserving the history of the American Revolution. The basic tenets of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) are to perpetuate the memory of the people and events of the American Revolution, to maintain the institutions of American Freedom, and to promote fellowship among the  descendants of Revolutionary War Patriots. The Cherokee Chapter,  located in Canton, Georgia, serves the citizens of Cherokee , Cobb, Fulton, Pickens, Forsyth, Gilmer, Bartow, Dawson, & Gordon counties. We provide patriotic and historical programs to schools as well as recognition to outstanding Eagle Scouts, ROTC cadets, police officers, and firefighters.  We need the help of all patriotic Americans to secure for future generations the liberties provided by our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and American institutions. We hope you will take time to learn more about our activities and visit us at one of our meetings. If you are interested in genealogy, we might be able to assist you or point you in the right direction. If you are a male over the age of 18 and have a patriot ancestor that supported the American Revolution, we can help you become a member of the SAR.
